(1) Why did you choose the strategy?
I chose this strategy its flexibility in assessment and targeted insdtruction. By having students students identify their current understanding of core vocabulary and concepts it puts ownership on the student. This can lead to better targeted support to tailor instruction. This chart can also be used to guage student progress by administering the chart after presenting new vocabulary.
(2) How do you anticipate it will impact deeper learning for students?
This strategy will impact my students understanding by targeting specific vocabulary and concepts. By having the student rate their current understanding it will allow me to better redirect remediation to ensure understanding. This strategy can also inspire in-class discussion of current understanding and ideas to help students recall important information.
